The boy ran 1,800km across Vietnam

Things to collect in 30 days of challenge

“Let's go to make your backpack heavier because of the things you picked up along the way. Go and make your shoes a little worn. Let's go to experience new things, then when you come back, you will love the familiar things that have been around for a long time...".

Bui Huy Hoang (25 years old, Hanoi) wrote on such a personal page when his journey through Vietnam was only 90km away  completion. Hoang chose to start his journey  Hoan Kiem Lake on June 16, a month later, July 15, he arrived at the end of the cross-Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City leg. During the 1 month period, Hoang ran through Vietnam, the weather was as hot as fire. The young man's hands were sometimes black because of sunburn, his feet were blistered, and sometimes he encountered seemingly frustrating incidents, but Hoang refused to give up, because he could not disappoint many people who put their trust in him.

Rain or shine, Hoang is still running, the person behind, the car in front. The stroller like a baby stroller is Hoang's inseparable object. It is a "miracle" car that not only holds personal belongings but also contains the hearts of many good people, sometimes a meager meal, a cup of sugarcane juice, a cake, even smiles as a response to the boss. The bright smile of a young man with a slim figure.

And the good stories that Hoang collected along the way through Vietnam made Hoang more will and motivation to continue for the meaningful journey. It is the story of a paralyzed man Hoang met on a tricycle on his way through Vietnam.
“I brought nothing with me, only a smile on my face. Before, I thought I was very strong, when I saw my uncle's leg paralyzed, when I saw Thien Nhan, I realized that I was really nothing," Hoang said. Or like the story that Hoang went to beg to sleep at a local's house and was treated by the owner for food and a place to sleep, the next day he also sent him off on the road, which made him even more warm.

After the trip, Hoang made many friends, many new things. After the journey has been over for two months, Hoang is preparing for the Vietnam Mountain Marathon, which he named "Running with a Smile" this weekend in Sapa (Lao Cai).

Above all, Hoang "picks up" the imprints of his youth: Challenges himself, answers the question of how far he can go, motivates others to go beyond his comfort zone and wants his loved ones. , friends are proud of themselves.

"I hope the young people set themselves big goals and then be persistent and disciplined with themselves every day to achieve it," Hoang said.

“Running with Thien Nhan”

Hoang often updates the situation of his trip through Vietnam on his personal page, below does not forget the information calling for support for the Thien Nhan fund. Hoang's running journey is called "Running with Thien Nhan". In a very personal way, Hoang chose 13 stops to celebrate the brave soldier's birthday.

Over the past 13 years, Thien Nhan and his adoptive mother Tran Mai Anh have written a fairy tale  the power of love and human values in life.

Thien Nhan did not run through Vietnam with Hoang, but it was a "special luggage" he brought with him. The strong will to live, the energy of the red boy who was abandoned in the wasteland and had to undergo many surgeries was a great encouragement to help Hoang complete the challenge.

Tran Mai Anh's heart and the spirit of Thien Nhan Foundation are also the inspiration for the young man's journey through Vietnam. Hoang wants to somehow help children with unfortunate circumstances.
“What I want after finishing is to raise money for the fund,” Hoang said.

Tran Mai Anh was very touched when her story and Thien Nhan inspired and motivated Hoang to conquer the challenge. According to her, it is the spread of fairy tales about Thien Nhan and of the children who are finding the opportunity to have a healthy body again.

The day Hoang left was also the day Mai Anh was present at Hoan Kiem Lake to encourage Hoang. From strangers who do not know, for the sake of noble goals, they come together and care for each other. Every day during the 1-month trip across Vietnam, Mai Anh's group and friends often send messages that are Hoang's spirit. In response, each light, Hoang was very early to send sunrise photos to his brothers and sisters and then ran again.
"Hoang ran with one goal, he achieved his wish and his journey across Vietnam has added great meaning", Mai Anh emphasized how Hoang spread the message of the Thien Nhan foundation. The community will help more children have the opportunity to get treatment.

This weekend, along with Hoang and her friends, Ms. Mai Anh also participated in the Vietnam Mountain Marathon. Not just to raise funds, for Mai Anh, this is an interesting and important journey.

This could also be a continuation of Hoang's "Running with Thien Nhan" journey, of people towards good things...
